Zohar Atkins is the Founder of Etz Hasadeh, a Center for Existential Torah. He earned a DPhil in Theology from Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar and received semikha from the Jewish Theological Seminary as a Wexner Graduate Fellow. He holds BA and MA degrees from Brown University.
Named one of The Jewish Week’s “36 under 36 Changemakers in Jewish Life” (2016) and recipient of the Eric Gregory Award for Poetry (2018), Zohar is the author of An Ethical and Theological Appropriation of Heidegger’s Critique of Modernity (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018) and the poetry collection Nineveh (Carcanet, 2019).
